Lena Blomberg New Executive Chairperson of GöteborgBIO
“Göteborg´s Life Science sector is currently in a very important phase. If we coordinate our efforts, there is excellent scope for ensuring significant development to strengthen Göteborg´s international standing. GöteborgBIO is an excellent platform for making such progress," says Lena Blomberg.
Lena Blomberg has had several important roles in GöteborgBIO - from the first steps towards creating the initiative in 2002, through the process of applying to VINNVÄXT, to the launch of GöteborgBIO in 2005 and continued development up to the present.
 
Lena has considerable experience of research and innovation from a number of positions and has been CEO of the Teknikbron Foundation in Gothenburg and later of Innovationsbron Väst. She is a microbiologist and obtained her PhD at the University of Gothenburg.
 
Lena took up her new position at GöteborgBIO on May 16, 2011. The position also includes the role of Process Manager of the cluster development initiative GöteborgBIO.
