In Sweden, new technologies are now being introduced into the market, so-called methane/diesel technology (methane-diesel engine). The technology means that gas is combined with diesel where the diesel engine's characteristics are maintained, i.e. efficiency and efficacy. Up to 90% of diesel can be replaced by vehicle gas.

Business Region Göteborg is project manager for BiMe Trucks that aims at developing a market for heavy long-haul vehicles with methane/diesel technology.
Klimatsmart Citydistribution (climate smart city distribution) is another project where methane/diesel technology will be developed for distribution trucks.
