Excellent location in Scandinavia and part of the Göteborg region and Northern Europe´s logistics centre. Located centrally between each of the Scandinavian capitals and in a region of strong export and import growth Göteborg Landvetter Airport has over the previous 10 years shown the way with both established integrators and long haul intercontinental freight operations.
DHL and TNT have bases at the airport and are flying daily. On top of that the airport hosts several long haul flights per week with a mixture of B747 and MD11 freighters. Airlines today at the airport is: DHL, TNT, Lufthansa Cargo, Emirates Sky Cargo, Asiana and British Airways world cargo, Finnair, SAS Cargo and JAL then in turn buys part of the blockspace on several of the flights. These Freighters are carrying goods to/from the Middle East, China, Japan and Europe. This traffic has more than doubled our air cargo volumes, which has grown from 25 000 tonnes in 1994 to approximately 60 000 tonnes in 2006. About the same tonnage of cargo is trucked in/out of Göteborg Landvetter Airport which makes a total of over 120 000 tonnes per year.
The airport has now begun work on adding more cargo terminal capacity and 1st part of the terminal is expected to be finished in early 2008 and the 2nd part in 2009.
