The Port of Göteborg endeavors to achieve greater cooperation between different modes of transport to make transportation more efficient and easier for industry — and lighten the impact on the environment. The Swedish Maritime Administration makes an active effort to improve safety at sea. Together with the Port of Göteborg, the agency has invested some 700 million SEK in new “marine highways". This has created broader, deeper and straighter shipping channels in to the port.
Some 11,000 vessels dock in the Port of Göteborg every year. To give them an even better infrastructure and the best possible loading/unloading, the Port of Göteborg works actively with the companies that work in the port or close by, e.g. the shipping companies.
