The Göteborg Region has an excellent location on the west coast of Sweden, with the best access to transoceanic shipping in Scandinavia and the Baltic Region. 70% of Scandinavia´s industrial capacity can be found within a 500 km radius or 6 hours´ journey by car.Air, rail, sea, and road — all are part of the transport network in which Göteborg is the logistics hub. Together with a number of government agencies, the Göteborg Region is putting great effort into holding on to its leading position in the logistics sector. We cooperate and interact to further strengthen Scandinavian industry´s competitiveness.
The Logistics and Transportation Foundation (LTS), Chalmers University of Technology, and the School of Business, Economics and Law at Göteborg University ensure that the Göteborg Region also continues to lead research and development in logistics. Chalmers University of Technology and the School of Business, Economics and Law at Göteborg University constitute the most important centre in Scandinavia for academic research and education in the fields of logistics and transportation.
