What exactly is your business? “Our Business is the DIY Store" Why Göteborg? “We made an investigation about Göteborg and found the figures very good. Normally it´s always the capital city which is the first place we go to but not on this occasion." What´s unique regarding your Business? “We have a good concept for our customers. Our DIY store consists of three parts for the professionals customers: Garden center, Buildwarehaus, Drive-in center" What organizations helped you here and with what? “Business Region Göteborg and Tyska Handelskammaren." Is there much of a culture shock for staff you might have moved from your home country? “We have almost all Swedish staff so we don´t have these problems." Has it all been plain sailing in setting up in Sweden? "We have opened two market centers in three years. Differences or similarities with Sweden and your country? “In the assortment we have differences. We have 65% Swedish goods, but the concept is the same." Göteborg has a good history of trade with your country, is it still felt today? “Yes definitely. We have a very good connection with the Göteborg municipality." If you were doing things again would you do anything different? "No!"

"No!"

“Business Region Göteborg have been a great help to Hornbach. They helped us to find land at Hisingen Göteborg and they connected us with all the contacts of the municipality so we could quickly and easily get planning permission."
What is your goal?
“We would like to have 6-8 establishments in Sweden."
What will be the basis of your success?
“We have a very good assortment. The prices are low and our staff are very educated and service-minded."
Any tips for other companies relocating here?
“You have to look at the Swedish market and ask yourself-What do the Swedish people need."

“We did this adjusting before we came to Sweden."
