Four great gardens (The Botanical Gardens, Gunnebo House and Gardens, LisebergPark and The Garden Society (Trädgårdsförening)) in Göteborg are combining in this celebration of gardening between the end of June and the end of September this year. Marstrand — island with a fort and pretty houses not all that far from Kungälv. Good place to eat or have coffee and some nice walks. You have to park your car and get a ferry to the island. (Buy a 100 kr card at the kiosk where the ferry leaves from)

Nääs Slott — a lovely manor house which is open during the summer months, from May 1st on weekends. Good place for coffee and walking. Concerts and crafts.

Tjöloholm slott — A beautiful Elizabethan style manor house just40 kmsouth of Göteborg. Great Christmas market and interesting house to look around.

Delsjö park/Skatås - A great, huge, natural park only 6km to the east of Göteborg. Lakes with canoeing and lots of running tracks in the Skatås area. Easy to get to with public transport.

Bohuslän — The area by the sea to the north of Göteborg. It is a beautiful area of rocky beaches and islands.

Göteborg archipelago: There are some beautiful islands just outside Göteborg and you can get there by ferry. The boats to the southern islands leave from Saltholmen (parking sometimes difficult) and those to the northern islands leave from Hjuvik on Hisingen.
