Abhay Jahirabadkar was and is responsible for this Indian company's set-up in Göteborg and in other parts of Scandinavia. Here he gives some answers regarding the establishment process, future plans and his thoughts about Göteborg. 

When did you set-up in Göteborg?

 
We did our set-up in Göteborg in 2005.
 

Why in Göteborg?

1. The location- very convenient as we work in Danish and Norwegian market.

2. Quicker response from Business Region Göteborg, BRG.
 

Where else in the world have you set-up? How has the establishment process been in Göteborg if you compare to other locations in where you have established?


 
Head office and delivery center in Pune ,India.
Office in South India, Bangalore.

Finland ,Germany , France, US, Romania. Gothenburg ,Sweden. Offices in Denmark, Norge.
 
It was a smooth and positive set-up in Sweden compared to other regions.
 

What are the goals of your organization/company?


 
We are an engineering service company. We have had a 100% growth during the last 2 years in the region.
 
We will be aiming to have 40-60 people in Gothenburg in the next two years and we will try to achieve this either by acquisitions or by our own.  
 
We will also expand in Danish and Norwegian market locally.
 

What is unique regarding your business?


 
- We are a company working in Mechanical Design.
 
- Our mix model of delivery (part of the work in Sweden and part in India) reduces engineering time with substantial cost benefit.
 
- The support to our client from local offices.

What will be the basis of your success?


 
- The company strategy to use local competence for local work

- Guidance from our- Senior Adviser Mr.Kurt Isakssonand efforts of our Technical Manager Mr.Per  Erik Melander
- Marketing, delivery and back office support from our India office
 

Any tips/comments to companies planning on setting up here?

- One needs to have patience to achieve something in this market
- Swedish companies are very open to globalisation; it is also required to build trust

Any other comments about your establishment or your living (livelihood) in Göteborg Region? 

I have only positive things to say about my stay here in Gothenburg. Me and my family enjoyed the stay in Gothenburg.

Only problem is that Gothenburg do not have good flight connections, especially to Norway.
