Jan Wahlström new Managing Director for Q-Sense
Jan Wahlström has taken over as managing director of Q-Sense AB. He joins the company from a positions as CEO Europe for Umetrics, a software company focusing on multivariate statistical analysis primarily for pharmaceutical and chemistry applications and brings with him considerable experience in the scientific instruments market. As well as Umetrics, he has worked with companies such as Waters Corp and Skandinaviska Genetec.
Fredrik Lindgren, managing director of BiolinAB, which owns Q-Sense, says, “With his background in life science, Jan will bring the strong and knowledgeable leadership needed to allow Q-Sense to continue its growth." “I am excited to have this opportunity to join Q-Sense at such an exciting point in its history. At the same time, we have ambitions to increase our market position all over the world as we tap into new business opportunities", Jan comments.
Q-Sense was founded in 1996 by researchers at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg ,Sweden and the company continues to work closely with researchers at leading universities throughout the world to ensure that QCM-D is at the forefront of developments. Today, the company has a world-wide distributor network, instruments used in more than 25 countries and a subsidiary in the U.S. The benefits of QCM-D are utilized every day by companies such as AstraZeneca, Amgen, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble and Unilever, and also by prominent research groups at ETH Zürich, Harvard, Stanford, Yale and other universities around the world.
