Over a billion to West Swedish infrastructure
A new river link, national highways 40, E 45 and the Port of Göteborg. Four West Swedish infrastructure projects receive a total of 1, 15 billion Swedish crones from the 7, 6 billion which the government will invest in Swedish roads and railroads during the two coming years. On September 11th, in a meeting at Göteborg Port, the Swedish government presented the new investments planned for the country´s infrastructure which will take place during 2009 and 2010. For Western Sweden, a total of 1, 15 billions will be divided over four different projects:
- National Highway 40, which is not a freeway today, receives 100 million Swedish crones.
- The new wished-for river link gets 200 million crones next year and 2010 in order for the constructions to start.
- 150 million crones go to roads to and from the port of Göteborg— the biggest in Scandinavia.
These roads will be improved in order to facilitate the flow of goods.
- The development of E 45 which will be a freeway receives 700 million crones.
