The largest harbour in the Nordic countries with ocean-going direct routes and commuters for railroad goods is an advantage when increasingly more consumer products are imported from Southeast Asia. World-leading auto clusters, excellent transport infrastructures, leading academic logistics education programs and a strong regional collaboration make Göteborg number one.

Criteria
All the relevant circumstances that determine where companies set up central warehouse/logistic centres for consumer products are evaluated, but also for the entire Nordic Region. The studies are based on open sources, interviews with the industry´s relevant player and statistics for new logistic establishments during the year and five years back in time.
 
The ranking is based on the following six criteria:
1. Geographic location, proximity to the demographic centres of Sweden and the Nordic Region.
2. The volume of existing and planned logistic operations.
3. Full-service and access in logistic infrastructure (road, railroads, harbours, freight airports and combi terminals)
4. Range of logistic services, relevant academic education and access to labour force.
5. Degree of established cooperation and networks in the region.
6. Price and access to land for new businesses.

Out of 150 countries worldwide, Sweden is ranked number four over countries with best efficiency and quality in logistics. The study was conducted by economists at the World Bank and is called Connecting to Compete: Trade Logistics in the Global Economy. International logisticians have given their view on efficiency  and quality in various countries´ toll- and border control processes, infrastructure (ports, railroads, IT), how easy it is, the costs for sending goods to the country, the competence in logistics, possibilities to track the goods, logistic costs and the delivery security.
