Sweden´s second largest region, the Gothenburg Region, has great potential! Sweden has a steady growth and a stable economy. Statistics show that the Gothenburg region is highly attractive for investors as well as for inhabitants. Sectors such as ICT, Logistics, Life Sciences, and International trade are very strong. The number of inhabitants is increasing each year by over 8,000 people. Today, there are about 1 million inhabitants. By 2025, the goal for the region is to have 1, 5 million inhabitants. Till then, heavy infrastructure investments will take place worth nearly 40 billion SEK. The result will be an enlargement of the labor market region thanks to infrastructure investments with new railroads, roads, etc.
For Expo Real 2011, we put extra focus on Logistics, which was reflected visually in our stand and also by the content at the event on Wednesday October 5th. Many German companies in the Gothenburg region are in the Logistic sector and Germany is also one of Sweden´s most important trading partners. The Gothenburg region has a lot to offer companies in the Logistics sector — the prerequisites are here. The largest harbor in the Nordic region is located here - The Port of Gothenburg — and is located only 5 minutes from city centre of Gothenburg. The Gothenburg Landvetter Airport - which is developing West Sweden´s Airport City, is located in this region as well — only 15 minutes from city centre of Gothenburg.
The Airport City will consist of Logistics, Trade & Attractions, Business & office facilities, and Hotel & Conference. The land available ads up to 1 hectare: 1, 000,000 square metres of land.
Opportunities — in short
