Al Gore receives the Gothenburg prize at a climate gala in Scandinavium.
This year's Göteborg Award for Sustainable Development, previously known as Göteborg International Environmental Award, goes to environmental debater, Mr. Al Gore.Al Gore, himself, will accept the price of one million Swedish Crones (SEK) at a ceremony which takes place at the stadium Scandinavium, January 22nd of 2008.In connection with Al Gore coming to Göteborg this day, there is a price ceremony at a gala at Scandinavium in the evening where everyone is welcome. In addition, The Göteborg Award with partners will arrange five seminars in the afternoon with the theme sustainable growth. The seminars will have focus areas such as cleantech, bio-fuel, transports, sustainable investments, among other things.
The program during the evening gala will e.g. include: a price ceremony, music by Swedish well-known artists, speech by Al Gore and Jan Eliasson.
